Holy Cross is an Anglican faith-based primary school set on the beautiful grounds of the former Hillendale Monastery, 5km from Makhanda. We are a bilingual isiXhosa/English school following the CAPS curriculum. We have passionate teachers, small classes (our largest class has 18 children), and a strong environmental focus. Founded by the brothers of the Order of the Holy Cross, the school is based on a deep belief that the love of children must inform everything that we do. We benefit from international and local partnerships. This means that our children are exposed to international visitors on a regular basis including during our annual STEM and Reading Camps.
